They had already won the championship, but Moores Racing weren't going to sit back and do nothing at Silverstone and there was a chance they could win the overall series. The Moores Racing Team once again pulled out all the stops and won the last race of the season by 8 laps over Ducks X Racing and finished 3rd overall.

Jim Agombar once again took the LeMans start after a dodgy flag drop confused more than a few riders, sending some running and some returning to the start position! Once everyone realised the race had started, Jim sprinted to the bike and took off to put Moores in 3rd right from the start.

The Silverstone circuit proved to be a challenge with the tricky chicane and a full grid including a 30-strong Junior Endurance grid, many of whom were racing endurance for the first time.

Jim kept up the pace and kept us with in the top 3 when Mike took the saddle and maintained the position throughout, even though there were a few hairy moments on the circuit. When Tony went out for the 3rd stint, he also kept us at the front of the pack. We were gaining ground but it was decided not to change tyres for Jim's next run. Jim's lack of confidence in the well worn tyres showed in his first 3 laps with him running uncharacteristically slow lap times, but he decided to throw his brain away and by his fourth lap, he was back on form. Mike and Jim took the last two stints and maintained our 3rd position overall, but were the first 600 over the line, giving Moores Racing the final win of the season, proving they were indeed the British Supersport 600 Endurance Champions.

It was with extreme pride that the team watched the riders go for their "podium" on Saturday - and they were certainly the best turned out team - they all looked so professional in their matching Hein Gericke leathers and NGK hats and the 1st place was well deserved. What a season!

Moores Pit Crew Junior Endurance Team

Phill Haynes and James Walker took to the circuit in their first Junior 1000 Endurance race, a 2-hour relay with 2 bikes exchanging transponders every 2 hours. Phill, riding last year's Moores Yamaha R1, had a ball, putting in mildly and was heard to say he would fancy another go next year.

James was having a cracking race when he crashed but got the bike up again and was continuing to race when he was black-flagged as bits of his fairing were coming off. Still, the team faired well, coming 22nd out of 30 and they did the team proud!

Watch this space next year!

Special Thanks

Once again the team really gelled this year. The one thing that always shines bright and clear though is the Moores Racing teamwork. The riders did fantastically well and ultimately their riding brought the team the well deserved victory on the day and the Championship win, but the team is what kept it all together.

The Moores pit crew is second to none and are dedicated beyond the call of duty. The timekeepers deserve medals - who else but a dedicated team member would stand on a wall for 6 hours, sometimes in freezing cold, sometimes in torrential rain, just to ensure the riders knew how they were doing.

Martin has been a brilliant photographer all year, capturing those moments that really show what teamwork is all about. And what about those sexy fuellers, eh? Each and every one has been an important and integral part of the team and a special thanks go to all of them.

Moores Racing would also like to thank the our dedicated sponsors. Where would we be without them - those background people and companies who keep us with parts, oil, clothing and of course, the bike. Without them and their continued support, none of this would have been possible.

And of course, we can't forget the Moores Racing Fan Club - always supporting and cheering on the team through good times and bad.

A huge well done to everyone and LONG LIVE MOORES RACING!

See you all next year!
